The Longest Johns Nashville Concert reviews
Joe at the Beacon
The balance of the evening sounded great after getting it closer to right. The Longest Johns, unfortunately, fell in love with the "f" word in their comments about living on the Upper Westside. Several opening songs were familiar but blurry. Reese is worth watching and focusing on all by himself. Waiting for the sound techs to get it right when this was the second show in three nights was frustrating. Anton Fig's cameo only made abundantly clear how less than comparable that evening drummer was. Fig is a legend for a reason. They played wonderfully, the backing singers superb and the twins horns wonderful. Disappointing he was not there for the whole show. That, it seemed, was gratuitous. The Beacon Theaters acoustics are merely OK.
